University of Miami men's basketball coach Jim Larranaga signed an extension on Thursday that will keep him in Coral Gables through the 2022 season, multiple outlets reported.
This past year, in his second season at the Hurricanes' helm, Larranaga's squad advanced to the NCAA Tournament's Sweet 16 after capturing the program's first ACC regular season and tournament titles.
The Hurricanes climbed as high as No. 2 in the polls on their way to winning a school-record 29 games.
Larranaga said in a statement that he is grateful for the opportunity to continue coaching at Miami.
"It has always been my goal to compete at the very highest level, so I am fortunate, and humbled, that I will be able to pursue this opportunity for the remainder of my career," he said.
