Ex-WNBA player Holdsclaw pleads guilty to assault
Olympic gold medalist Chamique Holdsclaw pleaded guilty to assault on Friday but will not have to go to jail, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported.
The former WNBA standout and Tennessee All-American was arrested in November after allegedly smashing the windows of ex-girlfriend Jennifer Lacy's SUV. Lacy said Holdsclaw also fired a gunshot at her vehicle.
Holdsclaw, 35, pleaded guilty to two counts of aggravated assault, first-degree criminal damage, two counts of second-degree criminal damage and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, the report indicated.
Her sentence included three years' probation, $3,000 in restitution, 120 hours of community service, anger management classes and an order to avoid Lacy, according to the Journal-Constitution.
The 30-year-old Lacy plays for the WNBA's Tulsa Shock.
After Holdsclaw's 12-year WNBA career ended in 2010, he disclosed in a biography her battle with degression and a suicide attempt in 2006 while playing for the Los Angeles Sparks.
