Former Florida basketball player Erving Walker likes tacos, but this much?
Walker was ordered to pay a $301 fine on Thursday, as punishment for steal a $3 taco from a Gainesville street vendor. Walker pleaded no contest Thursday morning to misdemeanor petit theft charges.
Judge Walter M. Green withheld adjudication and ordered Walker to pay the fine by Sept. 27. As part of an agreement, the state dropped an additional misdemeanor charge of resisting arrest without violence.
Walker was arrested March 30 after Gainesville Police Department officers arrested him after a foot chase that also involved several police cars. He ordered and received a taco from a vendor, then ran without paying.
