Ersan Ilyasova put up 31 points to lead the Milwaukee Bucks to a blowout victory over the Utah Jazz, 114-88. The Bucks shot lights out, finishing 42-74 (56.8%) from the field, including 8-13 (61.5%) from beyond the arc. This is only the third win for Milwaukee (12-47) in its last 10 games.
Ilyasova finished 13-14, in a solid outing. Other top contributors for Milwaukee included Zaza Pachulia with 14 points and 6 rebounds, and Nate Wolters with 10 points and 6 rebounds. Enes Kanter had a strong performance off the bench for Utah in the loss, scoring 27 points on 8-16 shooting from the field and 11-12 from the free throw line. He also added 14 rebounds.
Contrary to expectations, the offense of Milwaukee (ranked 29th in the NBA in offensive efficiency) recorded 1.32 points per possession against the # top-notch defense of Utah (ranked second in defensive efficiency). The Bucks combined an eFG% of 62.2% with 61.5% 3-point shooting. They are 3-2 this year when registering marks above 55% and 40% in those respective statistics. The Jazz, on the other hand, are 1-9 when allowing opponents to hit those marks.
Utah (21-39) has now lost three straight games.
Coming up, the Bucks battle the Sacramento Kings, who are 20-39 on the season. The Jazz meet the Washington Wizards, currently sitting at 31-29 this year. The Jazz are 1-0 versus Washington this season.
