Denmark coach Morten Olsen believes Ajax star Christian Eriksen is better than players such as Wesley Sneijder and Rafael van der Vaart were at the age of 21.
The playmaker has been continually linked with a move to a bigger club this summer after impressing in Amsterdam in the past three seasons and the 63-year-old thinks the attacking midfielder is ready for the next step in his career.
"I think that Christian is further in his development than Van der Vaart and Sneijder were at his age in a number of areas," he coach told TV2.
"That's why he's ready for the next step in his career. There's little doubt about that for me. It's eventually up to him, though. He scores as much as Van der Vaart and Sneijder did at this stage of their career."
Van der Vaart left Ajax for Hamburg at the age of 22, while Sneijder moved to Real Madrid when he was one year older.
Eriksen has been heavily linked with Borussia Dortmund and Liverpool, while Tottenham Hotspur is also keeping tabs on the midfielder. His contract with Ajax runs until the summer of 2014.
