    Eric McCabe Crowned Champion at Disc Golf's Crowley Spring Stampede

    The Crowley Spring Stampede, presented by Travis Avenue Baptist Church, was held on Saturday, May 5 at the Bicentennial Disc Golf Course in Crowley, Texas. With 93 disc golfers taking part in this PDGA sanctioned B-tier event, it was Eric McCabe of Emporia, Kan., who emerged the winner in the open division with a final score of 14-under par.

    McCabe shot a 60 in round one and an impressive 52 in round two. In 2012, McCabe has already had two victories, including the Dynamic Discs Rosedale Open and the Dynamic Discs Towne Lake Pro/Am. Following in a tie at second place was Chris Pepperling and local Brice Longerbone, both scoring 8-under par.

    North Texas Tournament Series Final winner J.D. Ramirez of Wylie, Texas, followed in fourth place at just a stroke behind with a final score of 7-under par. In fifth place was Tony Shirley of Arlington, Texas, scoring 6-under par. Scoring 4-under par to capture sixth place was Bucky Garrett of Carollton, Texas, and Adam Hunt of Tulsa, Okla., finished in seventh place with a final score of 3-under par.

    Paul Dorries and John Fink both scored 2-under par to finish in a tie at eighth place. In another tie for 10th place was George Castillo and Shawn Robertson, both scoring at even par.

    Liz Lopez of San Antonio, Texas, won the division for the women with a final score of 1-over par. Lopez was crowned champion at several events in 2011, including the St. Louis Open, the Madisonville Open and the Four States Open.

    The advanced division win went to Brandon Mast of Abilene, Texas, with a final score of 4-under par. Mast had a number of victories last year as well, including the Polar Open and the Dynamic Discs Cedar Hill, both competing in the intermediate division. Raul Albarez of The Colony, Texas, followed in second place, scoring at even par, while David Tennant and Eric Dodson both scored 2-over par to finish in a tie for third place.

    The advanced masters division victory went to Jon Rogers of Waco, Texas, with a final score of 11-over par. Greg Cox of North Richland Hills, Texas, won the advanced grandmasters division, scoring 5-over par.

    Jason Johnson of Mesquite, Texas, captured the win in the intermediate division with a final score of 3-over par, with Kim Kuhns of Fort Worth, Texas taking the win for the women in the division, scoring 43-over par.

    Finally, it was James Fliedner of Fort Worth who won the recreational division with a final score of 5-over par.
