Gordon (knee) continues to show signs of improvement, and the Hornets will proceed with their plan to increase his minutes slightly against Dallas on Saturday, the New Orleans Times-Picayune reports. "He’s getting more and more game ready," coach Monty Williams said. "It’s tough to go from not playing at all to jumping right into an NBA game. [Friday] was a good time to watch him in game situations and watch other guys play around him. He’s certainly not going to play 40 minutes, but we’re going to start increasing his minutes."
Recommendation: Following the recommendation of doctors, Williams sat Gordon on Wednesday in order to avoid having him play his first back-to-back games too soon after his return last week. Williams wouldn't speculate on whether he would do the same the next time the team plays back-to-back games on Jan. 15-16. Gordon has played 25 and 24 minutes in his first two games back, so look for that number to approach, and possibly go beyond, the 30 mark Saturday.
