New England Patriots Fantasy Football Week 6: Fan Preview

Yahoo Contributor Network

Note: The opinions expressed here are my takes on the New England Patriots' key players during the 2012 fantasy football season. As always, use your best judgment and conduct your own research on who to start or bench each week. You know your individual team and/or league situation better than anyone else. All statistics and point totals are based on Yahoo! Sports Fantasy Football standard scoring system.

Tom Brady, QB

Brady finished the week earning 18.72 fantasy points in a win over the Denver Broncos. This week he faces a Seattle Seahawks' defense that has allowed an average of just 10.15 fantasy points per game to quarterbacks this season. Brady has a nightmare matchup on the road, but on the bright side, he is Tom Brady. His numbers certainly will not be great this week but expect at least 16.00 fantasy points.

Stevan Ridley, RB

Ridley had another fantastic week earning 19.10 fantasy points against the Broncos. This week he faces a Seattle defense that has given up just 9.02 fantasy points per game to running backs this season. Like Brady, Ridley has a very difficult matchup this week against the Seahawks. Look for Ridley's numbers to be better if New England can establish a lead early. Expect around 9.00 fantasy points this week.

Wes Welker, WR

Welker finished the week earning 16.40 fantasy points against Denver. This week he faces a Seahawks' defense that has allowed an average of 17.48 fantasy points per game to wide receivers this season. Like the rest of the offense, Welker has a tough matchup against the strong Seattle defense this week. He will benefit if Brady goes to a no-huddle offense so expect around 9.00 fantasy points this week.

Brandon Lloyd, WR

Lloyd finished the week earning just 3.40 fantasy points against the Broncos. This week he shares the tough matchup against the Seahawks with the rest of the Patriots' offense. Even Welker is not expected to have a great game this week meaning the prospects for Lloyd are even less. It may be best to consider other roster options this week if available.

Rob Gronkowski, TE

Gronkowski finished the week earning just 3.50 fantasy points against Denver. This week he faces a Seattle defense that has given up an average of just 4.88 fantasy points per game to tight ends this season. It appears Gronkowski's hip will not be a concern this week but he has a brutal matchup against the Seahawks' defense. Look for around 9.00 fantasy points at best this week provided he finds the end zone.
