Tom Brady had a big night passing, leading the way to a late victory for the Patriots over the Broncos, 34-31, at home.
Brady picked apart the Broncos for three touchdowns on 34 of 50 passing for 344 yards and one fumble. On the Broncos side, Peyton Manning did not fare as well on the night, going 19 of 36 with 150 yards passing, two touchdowns and one pick.
Brandon Bolden carried the ball 13 times for 58 yards with a touchdown in addition to one reception for 11 yards. Julian Edelman was a top receiver, catching nine passes for 110 yards with two touchdowns.
The New England defense managed to slow down the passing attack, but could not slow down the running game, giving up 280 yards rushing and 150 passing. They got to Manning for two sacks.
Broncos running back Knowshon Moreno had a productive game with 224 yards rushing and one touchdown. Tight end Jacob Tamme also had a noteworthy performance with 47 receiving yards and one touchdown.
The Patriots head to Houston next week to face the Texans (2-9) while the Broncos go to Kansas City to play the Chiefs (9-2).
