Patriots Fall to Jets, 30-27 in Overtime

Rob Gronkowski had a big day for the offense, but it was not enough to avoid a heartbreaking loss for the Patriots against the Jets, 30-27, at MetLife Stadium.

Tom Brady finished 22 for 46 with 228 yards and one pick with no scores. Geno Smith ended up going 17 of 33 with 233 yards passing, two touchdowns (1 pass, 1 rush) and one pick for the Jets.

Stevan Ridley rushed for 50 yards on 11 carries while adding a touchdown. Gronkowski was a top performer, snagging eight passes for 114 yards.

The New England defense had a decent day, highlighted by giving up 177 yards rushing and 206 passing while taking back one interception for a touchdown. They manhandled Smith with four sacks.

Jets wide receiver Jeremy Kerley could not be contained, putting up 97 receiving yards and one touchdown. Wide receiver David Nelson also performed well with 80 receiving yards.

Next week, the Patriots host the Dolphins (3-3) while the Jets head to Cincinnati to face the Bengals (5-2).
