Stevan Ridley had a big day for the offense, leading the way to a narrow victory for the Patriots over the Saints, 30-27, at home.
Tom Brady completed the game 25 for 43 with 269 yards passing, one touchdown and one pick. On the Saints side, Drew Brees went 17 for 36 with 236 yards passing, two touchdowns and one pick.
Ridley was a key factor for the Patriots, running all over the Saints for 96 yards on 20 carries with two touchdowns in addition to one reception for 14 yards. Michael Hoomanawanui pulled in four passes for 57 yards.
The New England defense allowed 131 yards rushing and 230 passing. They were able to get to Brees for one sack.
Finally, Stephen Gostkowski was perfect, connecting on all three of his field goal attempts.
Saints wide receiver Kenny Stills contributed 64 receiving yards and one touchdown. Tight end Benjamin Watson also gave a strong effort with 61 receiving yards.
The Patriots travel to East Rutherford next week to meet the Jets (3-3) while the Saints are at home to take on the Bills (2-4).
