Emilio Bonifacio: (Thumb) Season Could Be Over

Rotowire.com
Update: Bonifacio will likely miss the rest of the season after re-injuring his surgically-repaired thumb on Friday, the South Florida Sun-Sentinel reports.

Recommendation: "I don’t think he’ll come back this year," Marlins manager Ozzie Guillen said after Friday's double-header. "I hope so, but in my mind he’s gone. The way he was acting, the pain, I’m not looking for a day-by-day thing." The Marlins will recall Nick Green from Triple-A on Saturday to take Bonifacio's roster spot, but whether Green or Donnie Murphy takes over as the regular second baseman remains to be seen.
