AC Milan midfielder Urby Emanuelson has expressed his disappointment with his exclusion from Netherlands' provisional squad for Euro 2012.
The former Ajax star made the original 36-man roster, but was one of nine players dropped on Tuesday, much to the shock of the 25-year-old.
"I haven't been informed of the reason yet. I really don't know what to say now, except that I'm very disappointed," Emanuelson said to NUsport. "As far as I know, I was supposed to make an appearance on Thursday, but all of a sudden I found out on Tuesday that I'm no longer part of the squad.
"I thought that I was heading in the right direction and was really looking forward to the finals. It would have been my first big tournament. Missing out is a huge blow."
Emanuelson has made 15 appearances for Netherlands so far. He last featured for Oranje in the 3-2 friendly win over England in February.
