MLB trade deadline:

Elvis Andrus: Eight-Year Extension With Rangers

Rotowire.com
Update: Andrus and the Rangers have agreed to an eight-year, $120 million contract extension, CBSSports.com reports.

Recommendation: An official announcement is expected sometime this week. Andrus is now wrapped up for the next 10 seasons, though the deal may include an opt-out clause. Andrus' extension will block top prospect Jurickson Profar long-term at shortstop, but if the Rangers end up moving Ian Kinsler to first base next season, Profar could step in at second and join Andrus in the middle infield.
