Eddie Lacy: Suffers Small Tear Near Hamstring

Rotowire.com
Update: Lacy will not participate in drills at the Combine due to a "small tear around his hamstring," ESPN's Adam Schefter reports.

Recommendation: The use of the word tear in this instance seems to imply that the injury might be worse than your standard hamstring tweak, and Schefter further supported that notion by saying Lacy merely "hopes" to perform all drills at Alabama's Mar. 13 pro day. While it's not ideal for Lacy to miss out on the Combine spotlight, the truth is he's safely the top running back in this draft class right now, and it would take some truly great performances by his competition for Lacy to lose that distinction, assuming the health of all involved is equal. Moreover, the draft isn't until Apr. 25, so even if Lacy misses out on Alabama's Mar. 13 event, he could easily hold a private workout for scouts at a later point.
