The Pirates (9-2), coming off a week-long break for final exams, built a 17-point lead in the first half behind Richmond's 15-point effort. Roberts-Campbell had 15 of his points in the second half to help seal the win.
The Pirates shot 50 percent from the field (24 for 48), which offset NC A&T's 39-31 edge on the boards.
NC A&T (3-7), the defending MEAC champions, got a 20-point effort from Richaud Pack, a transfer from Florida International who entered the game averaging 17.6 points per game. Returning starters Bruce Beckford and Lamont Middleton added 17 and 16 points, respectively.
