Eagles QB Michael Vick (concussion) will miss his second straight game Monday night when the Eagles host the Panthers.
Eagles head coach Andy Reid made the announcement Saturday. Vick has made progress in his recovery from the concussion he suffered in Philadelphia's Week 10 loss to the Cowboys, the Eagles' head athletic trainer, Rick Burkholder, said.
Burkholder said Vick is in the third phase of the NFL's five-phase protocal for players that have suffered concussions. However, Eagles RB LeSean McCoy is apparently not as close to making a return. He suffered a concussion last week and is still in the first phase of the protocal, per Burkholder. McCoy has not yet been cleared to attend team meetings and is having trouble sleeping.
Rookie Nick Foles will start at quarterback for the Eagles Monday night and rookie Bryce Brown will start at running back.
