Buzzing on Yahoo Sports:

Eagles stick with Vick 'right now' but will evaluate

The SportsXchange

Eagles coach Andy Reid isn't benching Michael Vick, but he subtly put his starting quarterback on notice Monday.

"Right now," Reid said. "We're going with Michael. We'll evaluate as we go."

Reid has been here before, and his most recent history of quarterback changes might not make it easy for Vick to rest Monday evening.

On Monday, Sept. 21, 2010, Vick was named the Eagles' starter after Reid had said the day before Kevin Kolb was the starter and would be a "championship-caliber quarterback." Vick had stepped in for Kolb in relief midway through Week 1 because Kolb suffered a concussion. Vick, then 30, hit 37 of 58 passes for three touchdowns and no interceptions and had 19 carries for 140 yards. The Eagles were 1-1 and coming off of a 35-32 win at Detroit.

Reid doesn't have a Vick waiting in the wings this season. His performance -- six interceptions and three fumbles lost -- clearly warrants close inspection. The Eagles' offensive line wouldn't make life any easier for rookie backup Nick Foles and Reid understands that the wrong decision could end his tenure in Philadelphia.

The Eagles are 2-1 this season, winning each of the first two games by one point in fourth-quarter comebacks. Vick has been hit 28 times in three games.

Vick's contract calls for a salary of $12.5 million this season and $15.5 million next year.
