The Eagles signed DT Landon Cohen on Thursday and cut LB Monte Simmons. Cohen will play in Thursday’s preseason home game against the Jets.

The 26-year-old Cohen is a four-year veteran who has suited up for the Lions (2008-09), Jaguars (2010), and Patriots (2010-11). He has participated in 25 games, recording 31 tackles (21 solo) and no sacks.

Simmons spent the entire 2011 season on the 49ers’ practice squad. He signed with the Eagles on March 5 and made just two preseason tackles.
