Eagles moving forward after missing on Oregon's Chip Kelly

National Football Post

Eagles’ brass completed an interview with Denver Broncos offensive coordinator Mike McCoy on Sunday and then returned to Philadelphia to plot the next course of action in the club’s search for a head coach.

Oregon coach Chip Kelly turned down the Eagles and Cleveland Browns, and that leaves the Eagles to re-assess their situation. Philadelphia also interviewed Penn State coach Bill O’Brien, who will remain at the school, and was scheduled to interview Syracuse coach Doug Marrone before he was hired by the Buffalo Bills.

What’s next for the Eagles? A couple of different moves.

The club has requested and received permission to meet with Seahawks defensive coordinator Gus Bradley, whose unit did a fine job stopping Robert Griffin III and the Washington Redskins on Sunday in the wild-card round of the playoffs. The Eagles are also lining up an interview with Indianapolis Colts offensive coordinator Bruce Arians and according to Jeff McLane of the Philadelphia Inquirer, the club has requested permission to interview Cincinnati Bengals offensive coordinator Jay Gruden.

The Eagles have already knocked out interviews with Atlanta Falcons defensive coordinator Mike Nolan and Falcons special teams coordinator Keith Armstrong.
