Eagles cut veteran DT Cullen Jenkins

The Philadelphia Eagles have released veteran defensive tackle Cullen Jenkins.

The club signed the former Green Bay Packer to a $30 million, five-year contract in a massive 2011 spending spree and he started 32 games for the Eagles, recording 9 ½ sacks in that period. But he’s 32 now and not the performer he once was with a young player already emerging in the middle of the line in Fletcher Cox.

Jenkins has experience playing in a 3-4 defense but he was due a $1 million roster bonus next month. The move creates $5.6 million in cap room for Philadelphia, according to Joel Corry.
