VESTAL, N.Y. (AP) -- Taylor Dyson's short baseline jumper as he fell to the floor with 2.3 seconds left boosted Hartford to a 56-54 victory over Binghamton on Thursday night.
Wes Cole, who led the Hawks (10-11, 4-2 America East) with 24 points, missed a 3-pointer but Dyson tossed in the offensive rebound. Cole took 18 shots, all 3-point attempts, as Hartford won its third straight.
Binghamton had its largest lead, 10 points, with 9:35 left in the first half but only a one-point advantage, 28-27, at the break. Hartford tied the game early in the second half and had a six-point lead, 50-44, with 4:49 remaining before the Bearcats were able to tie the game at 54 on two free throws by Jordan Reed with 1:34 left.
Yosef Yacob scored 14 points and Karon Waller grabbed 11 rebounds to lead the Bearcats (4-15, 1-5), who lost their fourth consecutive game.
