‘DWTS’ Pro Maksim Chmerkovskiy Shares Cryptic Instagram Post
The “Dancing With the Stars” Season 24 teams hit the ground running in Week 1. Things were looking good for just about everyone heading into the first elimination round, but it seems Team Maksimum Heat has hit a bump in the road.
While all the other “DWTS” pairs spent the weekend practicing for Season 24, Week 2, Maksim Chmerkovskiy and Heather Morris went dark on social media. Fans assumed they, like their competitors were working hard on their routine, but a cryptic Instagram post from the new father on Monday suggests otherwise. Maks shared a photo of he and Heather hugging, telling fans Monday’s episode would be “tough” for them.
Neither Maks nor Heather has said any more about “DWTS.” In his post, however, Maks wrote that the former “Glee” star “would have to hold it down for the both of us.” He provided no reason for his sudden departure from the show, but he seemed hopeful that he’ll be able to return in time.
In the meantime, Heather is in very capable hands. In her Instagram story, she introduced fans to her new partner, “DWTS” troupe member Alan Bersten. He frequently appears on the show as an addition to certain routines and has been called to fill in for injured dancers before.
Maks and Heather kicked off Season 24 of “DWTS” on a high note. For their first routine, Team Maksimum Heat performed a Viennese Waltz. The dance left the judges in awe, earning them an impressive 28 out of 40.
