Howard shot 13-18, in an efficient offensive performance. He also added 5 assists and 3 blocks. Other top contributors for Houston included Chandler Parsons with 20 points and 7 rebounds, Francisco Garcia with 16 points and 5 rebounds, and Omri Casspi with 13 points and 7 assists. On 8-20 shooting from the field and 3-7 from the free throw line, Josh Smith put up 19 points for Detroit in the loss. Greg Monroe contributed 10 points and 11 rebounds.
After putting up an eFG% of 61.4%, the Rockets are 5-1 this season when reaching 60% in that metric. From a defensive perspective, Detroit is winless (0-3) when an opponent shoots that well against them.
Detroit (13-16) has now dropped consecutive games after losing to Charlotte on Friday.
