Howard shot 11-17 from the field, in an efficient offensive performance. Other top performers for Houston were James Harden with 16 points and 7 rebounds, Jeremy Lin with 16 points and 9 assists, and Chandler Parsons with 14 points and 7 rebounds. On 11-21 shooting, including 2-7 from behind the arc, Avery Bradley scored 24 points for Boston in the loss.
In addition to 17.6% from 3-point range, the Celtics tallied an eFG% of just 39.1%. They are 1-8 on the season when registering marks below 30% and 45%, respectively, in those statistics. The Rockets, conversely, are 9-1 when holding the opposition to such dismal shooting numbers.
Boston (13-26) has now lost nine straight contests.
