Werder Bremen has appointed former Germany sporting director Robin Dutt to succeed sacked coach Thomas Schaaf.
The 52-year-old was fired after a 14-year spell in charge at the Weserstadion and the club has turned to the former Bayer Leverkusen coach to replace him.
"With Robin Dutt, we have secured the services of our desired candidate," read an official statement by Bremen sporting director Thomas Eichin.
"We are convinced that he will help reshaping the club. We would like to take the opportunity to thank the DFB, whose officials have enabled us to complete the transfer.
Meanwhile, Dutt, who has Bundesliga experience in the form of spells at Freiburg and Leverkusen, is delighted to return to coaching.
"I'm happy that I can make a return to the bench," he said. "Werder Bremen are a great club and it's an exciting task which I will undertake energetically."
