Ducks re-sign Fowler for five years, $20 million

The Anaheim Ducks on Saturday re-signed defenseman Cam Fowler to a five-year contract extension reportedly worth $20 million.

Fowler is under contract through the 2017-18 season.

Fowler, 20, had five goals and 24 assists last season. The Ducks drafted him 12th overall in 2010, and he had 10 goals and 30 assists as a rookie.

"We're excited to sign Cam to a long-term contract," general manager Bob Murray said. "He's a character kid with a great chance to become an elite NHL defenseman."
