DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) -- Trevor Berkeley drilled his only 3-pointer of the game as Drake scored six points in the final 16 seconds to rally past Western Michigan 71-68 Wednesday night.
Connar Tava hit a jumper with 52 seconds left, putting the Broncos (5-5) ahead for the tenth time in the seesaw game at 66-65. After a timeout, Berkeley hit his 3 with 16 seconds on the clock, Jordan Daniels made two free throws and Seth Van Deenst one.
Tava missed a 3-pointer in the final second. Drake had trailed by as many as eight points after halftime.
The teams went through stretches of swapping the lead on each possession, with 20 lead changes and five ties.
Jacob Enevold Jensen scored 16 points for Drake (7-3), Jordan Daniels added 14 with seven assists, and Chris Caird 10 points.
David Brown led Western Michigan with 23 points, Tava added 16 and Shayne Whittington 15.
