Have you ever wondered what it takes to slay like a drag queen? It's obvious they've got some serious skills because their hair and makeup always looks incredibly flawless. To watch the magic transformation go down, VH1's RuPaul's Drag Race queen contestant Alexis Michelle let me in on this amazing makeup and hair transformation. Prepare for your mind to be blown as you watch Alexis werk in the video below.

  1. Protect that mane. For a full glammed-out look, put on a hairnet to keep your strands out of the way.

  2. Add glue to your brows. First sanitise your brows, then apply purple glue stick all long the hairs. Use an eyebrow comb to brush up those brows and keep them in place and easy to cover with makeup later.

  3. Contour time. Use a foundation shade two to three shades darker than your skin tone and a contour brush to contour your cheekbones, hairline, and underneath your jaw line.

  4. Add loose powder. Use a powder poof to pat setting powder on top of your brows for staying power.

  5. Add concealer. Apply a full-coverage stick concealer two to three shades lighter than your skin tone underneath your eyes and on your t-zone area.

  6. Add foundation. Apply a full-coverage stick foundation the colour of your skin tone on the bottom half of your face and lower neckline.

  7. Blend, blend, and blend some more! Use a BeautyBlender or makeup sponge of your choice to blend your foundation in for a flawless finish.

  8. Contour your nose. Use a foundation shade two to three shades darker than your skin tone and a thin liner brush to outline the sides of your nose. Then use your fingertips to blend.

  9. Set everything with powder. Pat more white power down your nose, onto your cheekbones, chin, and your neckline to bake your makeup.

  10. Line your eyebrows. Use a waterproof brow gel to outline the top and bottom of your brows and create your brow shape. Then fill in your brows with two different shades of the brow gel to create dimension.

  11. Apply eyeshadow. Use a small fluffy brush to blend cranberry eyeshadow into the crease of your eye and just below your brow bone. Then apply a matte brown shadow all over your eyelid and blend into the cranberry shade.

  12. Add a cat-eye and mascara. Use a black liquid eyeliner to line your top and lower lash line. Extend your wing for extra drama! Follow up with applying mascara to your top and lower lashes.

  13. Smudge out your bottom lash line. Use a small fluffy brush to blend the cranberry shade under your bottom lashes and extend it toward the flick of your cat-eye. Then take a smudging brush and the same brown shadow to create a smoky line below your bottom lashes.

  14. Apply lashes. Pop on a set of lashes to both your top and lower lashes.

  15. Blush time. Use a fluffy brush to swipe a soft blush onto the apples of your cheeks.

  16. Line your lips and apply liquid lipstick. Use a tiny pointed lip brush to line your lips with a chestnut brown shade. Fill in your lips with a brown liquid lipstick. Add a light nude liquid lipstick onto the centre of your lips for a contoured look.

  17. Dust off the excess powder on your face. Once you've finished baking your face, your makeup is set and ready to go.

  18. Pop on your wig. Be sure to apply hair glue onto your hairline for a super-seamless look.

Boom! Your transformation is complete. The world is now your runway, kween!
