Dolphins RB Bush's knee injury not season-ending

The SportsXchange

Miami Dolphins running back Reggie Bush may miss a few games after taking a helmet to his left knee during Sunday's game against the visiting New York Jets.

The Palm Beach Post reported Monday that Bush's injury is not season-ending, according to a source, but will cost him some time.

The Dolphins have games coming up at Arizona and Cincinnati, then return home against St. Louis before a bye in Week 7.

Bush's injury occurred late in the first half. He tested out the knee at halftime but the team's medical staff ruled him out for the remainder of the contest.

He also had left knee injuries in 2007 and '08.

Bush, the AFC Offensive Player of the Week after the Dolphins' 35-13 win over Oakland in Week 2, is fourth in the NFL with 302 rushing yards. He had 61 yards on 10 carries Sunday.

Daniel Thomas and rookie Lamar Miller look to get much more playing time while Bush is out. Thomas rushed for 69 yards with a touchdown in Sunday's 23-20 overtime victory. Miller added 48 rushing yards.
