Dolphins add safety Tyrell Johnson

The SportsXchange

The Miami Dolphins announced Thursday that they have signed former Vikings safety Tyrell Johnson.

Johnson was a second-round pick by Minnesota in 2008 and played in 49 games for the Vikings.

He started in 2009 but struggled with injuries the past two years, ending up on injured reserve in 2010 and missing five games with a hamstring problem last season.

Johnson ostensibly replaces Yeremiah Bell, whom the Dolphins cut earlier this month.
