The Dolphins signed veteran OT Artis Hicks, his agent JR Rickert confirmed.
Hicks, a 10-year veteran, played in nine games with three starts for the Browns last season. In his career, he has played in 118 games with 71 starts for the Eagles, Vikings and Redskins.
"I am looking forward to meeting the new coaching staff and my O-line coach," Hicks said on his agency's website. "I would like to contribute in any way that I can to be a part of a winning organization."
The way we see it
Hicks is not the offensive tackle news Dolphins fans are waiting on — the team hosted Eric Winston for a visit earlier in the week, but the veteran Hicks adds depth at a position of need. Marc Colombo and Vernon Carey, who played guard last season, are both free agents.
