The Los Angeles Dodgers announced on Monday that they have signed Zack Greinke to a six-year contract. The deal, which had been reported several days ago but became official Monday, is worth approximately $147 million over six years, ESPN reported. The contract is the largest ever for a right-handed pitcher, and, in terms of total dollars, is the second richest in history for a pitcher. Only the $161 million deal signed by CC Sabathia with the Yankees in 2009 was bigger. Greinke can opt out after the first year of the deal if he is traded.
