The Los Angeles Dodgers on Sunday responded to outfielder Yasiel Puig's arrested on charges of speeding and reckless driving.

Puig was clocked at 110 mph on Florida's Alligator Alley (also called the Everglades Parkway) around 9:30 a.m. Saturday while driving his 2013 Mercedes. The posted speed limit is 70 mph.

He was released by police several hours after his arrest.

"We have spoken to Yasiel and made it clear that we, as an organization, are very disappointed in his recent behavior," the Dodgers said in a statement. "This is a very serious issue to us and we will continue to educate him and strive to further develop his growth off the field and as a member of this community."

The 23-year-old Puig, who finished second in the National League Rookie of the Year voting last season, also was charged in April with speeding, reckless driving and driving without proof of insurance in Chattanooga, Tenn. He was traveling 97 mph in a 50 mph zone while he was with the Dodgers' Class AA team.

Those charges were dismissed in November after he performed 12 hours of community service.

Puig joined the Dodgers in June and hit .319 with 19 home runs in 104 games.
