SAN FRANCISCO -- Juan Uribe equaled a career best with seven RBIs on a double, triple and home run as the Los Angeles Dodgers bombed Matt Cain for eight runs in 2 1/3 innings en route to a 10-2 victory over the San Francisco Giants on Friday night in the opener of a three-game series.

In winning for the 11th time in 13 games overall and a fourth consecutive time against the Giants, the Dodgers scored twice in the second inning and six times in the third in a one-sided victory that allowed them to move into a tie for second place with the Colorado Rockies in the National League West.

Dodgers left-hander Hyun-Jin Ryu (7-3) benefited from the early explosion to win for the first time in four starts this season against San Francisco, which fell to 1-10 in its last 11 games. The Giants remained tied for last place with the San Diego Padres in the NL West.

Ryu pitched into the seventh inning, allowing two runs and four hits. He walked three and struck out three in his eighth consecutive quality start.

Rookie sensation Yasiel Puig contributed a double and a walk to the win, which might have been a costly one for Los Angeles. The Dodgers saw Matt Kemp leave the game in the third inning with what was called irritation to the AC joint in his left shoulder.

The Giants finished with eight hits against three Dodgers pitchers but scored two or fewer runs for the 11th time in their last 14 games.

In improving their record at AT&T Park to 61-60, best among all NL teams, the Dodgers finished with 13 hits, their fifth consecutive double-digit production. Six of the hits, including Uribe's double and triple, came off Cain (5-5).

Uribe capped the Dodgers' second 10-run outburst in the past three games with a two-run homer, his fifth home run of the season, to left-center off Mike Kickham in the seventh.

Needing a single for the cycle, the Los Angeles third baseman struck out leading off the ninth against Jake Dunning, the fourth Giants pitcher.

After the Giants had scored once in the bottom of the first, the Dodgers took the lead for good when Uribe belted a bases-loaded, two-run double down the left-field line with one out in the second. Hanley Ramirez, who had walked, and Andre Ethier, who doubled Ramirez to third, scored on the play.

Cain escaped further damage in the inning but wasn't as fortunate when walks also hurt him in the third.

A Puig double and Adrian Gonzalez walk opened the inning and set up an RBI single by Ramirez that made the score 3-1. A.J. Ellis followed a walk to Carl Crawford with another run-scoring hit before Uribe's triple past a diving Cole Gillespie in left field produced three more runs and ended Cain's night after 2 1/3 innings, his shortest stint of the season.

Crawford was pinch-hitting for Kemp, who was able to finish his second-inning at-bat after the injury (he eventually drew a walk) and played one more inning in the field before leaving the game.

Cain, a 2012 All-Star, allowed eight runs, six hits and four walks. It was the fourth time in 18 starts this season he has been scorched for six or more runs in a game.

NOTES: Ethier began the day 28-for-63 (.444) against RHP Cain and went 1-for-2. The 29 hits are far and away the most for an opponent against Cain in his career. ... Cain had a 1.82 ERA in his previous five starts. ... The Dodgers activated Crawford from the disabled list before the game and sent OF Scott Van Slyke to Triple-A Albuquerque. Crawford hadn't played for the Dodgers since June 1. ... The Giants also made roster moves involving outfielders, promoting Gillespie from Triple-A Fresno to replace OF Juan Perez, who went in the other direction. To make room for Gillespie on the 40-man roster, the Giants moved CF Angel Pagan to the 60-day disabled list. ... The National League All-Star team will be announced about 45 minutes before the scheduled start of Saturday's middle game in the three-game series. Giants manager Bruce Bochy will skipper the NL squad.
