Doctor to decide if RG3 plays Sunday

The SportsXchange

The playing status of Washington Redskins rookie quarterback Robert Griffin III for Sunday's game against the Cleveland Browns will be decided by the team's doctor, NFL.com reported Saturday.

Griffin is listed as questionable with a sprained right knee, which he injured during last week's game against the Baltimore Ravens.

He has practiced on a limited basis this week, but backup Kirk Cousins has taken all the first-team snaps. Cousins led the Redskins to an overtime win over the Ravens after relieving the injured Griffin late in the fourth quarter.

The Redskins are reportedly willing to start Griffin if he is not 100 percent but will not play him if there is risk of further injuring his lateral collateral ligament.
