U.S. national team midfielder Mix Diskerud scored his first goal of the new season Monday, tallying the second goal in Rosenborg's 4-0 rout of Brann.
Diskerud, who re-signed with Rosenborg in the winter after his short-term contract with the club expired at the end of last season, scored in the 53rd minute to help his side to its second straight victory -- and second by clean sheet -- to open the 2013 campaign.
Diskerud, who was called into Jurgen Klinsmann's January U.S. training camp but left off the roster for the friendly against Canada, tallied two goals, one in league play and one in the UEFA Europa League, in his 17 games with Rosenborg to close the 2012 season. He has played all 180 minutes in Rosenborg's two matches thus far, with the club sitting atop the Eliteserien table.
