Other top performers for Dallas were Vince Carter with 19 points and 5 rebounds, Monta Ellis with 16 points and 9 assists, and DeJuan Blair with 15 points and 9 rebounds. On 6-16 shooting (4-11 on 3-point attempts), in addition to going 8-9 from the free throw line, Jodie Meeks put up 24 points for Los Angeles in the loss. Kendall Marshall chipped in 18 points and 6 assists and Pau Gasol finished with 15 points and 13 rebounds.
After putting up a sparkling assist-to-turnover ratio of 2.67, the Mavericks are 6-2 on the season when eclipsing 2.50 in this category. However, the Lakers are 1-6 when allowing their opponents to achieve such a lofty ratio.
This drops Los Angeles (14-21) to 0-2 against Dallas on the year.
