FRENCH LICK, Ind. (AP) -- Dina Ammaccapane birdied the final four holes for a 6-under 66 on Friday to take the first-round lead in the Legends Championship.

Ammaccapane set the competitive course record on French Lick Resort's Pete Dye Course.

''I'm the baby of this bunch, so I'm just getting my feet wet,'' said the 45-year-old Ammaccapane, making her third career start on the Legends Tour. ''This course favors my game. I'm a cutter, as opposed to the girls who draw the ball. I took notes and I took a lot of trouble out of play.''

Laura Davies and Laurie Rinker were tied for second at 68.

The winner Sunday will receive $75,00 in the $500,000 event.
