The 20-year-old Club America defender announced the move on his Twitter account Monday, saying that he would join up with the Portuguese outfit in six months.
Reyes debuted with America in 2010 and quickly became a star. The defender played a big part in Mexico winning gold at the Olympics in London, and has been part of El Tri's senior setup since 2011.
The move is rumored to be for around seven million euros, though the exact figures of the deal are not known.
Reyes will be the first Mexican to play in the Portuguese top flight since Francisco Fonseca in 2006.
