PHOENIX -- Paul Goldschmidt had four hits, including a home run, and tied a career high with five RBIs as the Arizona Diamondbacks beat the Colorado Rockies 8-2 at Chase Field on Sunday.

With help from early offensive support, Randall Delgado earned his first victory in six weeks.

Goldschmidt hit his 32nd homer, a two-run shot off the batter's eye in center field, to give the D-backs a 3-0 lead in the third inning off Jhoulys Chacin (13-9). Goldschmidt broke a season-worst streak of 83 at-bats without a homer and moved within one home run of NL leader Pedro Alvarez.

Goldschmidt also singled home a run in the first inning, and his two-out, two-run double capped a three-run fourth after a error by Rockies shortstop Troy Tulowitzki, giving Delgado a 6-0 cushion. Goldschmidt leads the NL with 114 RBIs.

Delgado (5-6) gave up two runs and five hits in six innings for his first win in eight starts, since a 7-6 decision in Boston on Aug. 2.

Pinch hitter Charlie Culberson hit a two-run home run to break up Delgado's shutout in the fifth inning. Delgado has given up 21 home runs in 106 1/3 innings this season.

Arizona rookie third baseman Matt Davidson had two hits, including his first major league homer, a bases-empty shot in the fifth inning.

The D-backs (75-73) have won three of four entering a four-game series against the National League West-leading Los Angeles Dodgers that begins Monday at Chase Field.

Tulowitzki, Charlie Blackmon and Jonathan Herrera had two hits apiece for Colorado (68-82), which has lost six of its last eight. The Rockies were playing their first game since Todd Helton announced Saturday night. Helton didn't play Sunday.

Arizona leadoff hitter Adam Eaton singled and stole second in the first inning before scoring on Goldschmidt's single. Eaton had two hits and scored twice.

Goldschmidt homered after a walk to Aaron Hill in the third.

Eaton was credited with an RBI as a run scored when Tulowitzki mishandled a throw to second base from Chacin on a grounder to the mound with runners on first and third in the fifth inning. Goldschmidt hit his homer two batters later.

NOTES: The Diamondbacks paid tribute to retiring Helton in his last game at Chase Field on Sunday. Helton was shown on the message board in center field before the second inning while his many accomplishments were read over the PA. Helton took off his cap and waved to the crowd. He has 35 homers and 135 RBIs in 226 games against the D-backs, with one more series to play against them next weekend at Coors Field. ... Arizona RHP Trevor Cahill, who will face the Dodgers on Monday, is 5-0 with 2.04 ERA in nine career starts against Los Angeles. Cahill has given up three earned runs in 20 1/3 innings against the Dodgers this season. ... Although no announcement has been made, Colorado is expected to start RHP Collin McHugh against St. Louis on Monday after pushing back LHP Jorge De La Rosa (thumb) for at least a day. McHugh spent most of the season in the minors. He was obtained in the midseason trade that sent OF Eric Young to the New York Mets.
