The SportsXchange

Outfielder Mark Trumbo was placed on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to Tuesday, with a stress fracture in his left foot and the Arizona Diamondbacks recalled outfielder Roger Kieschnick from Triple-A Reno.

Trumbo, 28, was out of the Diamondbacks' lineup Wednesday. He is tied for the National League lead with seven home runs and with 19 RBIs, was second in that category entering Thursday's games.

Trumbo was acquired as part of a three-team trade with the Chicago White Sox and Los Angeles Angels on Dec. 10. His 102 home runs since 2011 are the third-most in MLB behind Miguel Cabrera (120) and Jose Bautista (104).

Kieschnick, 27, was batting .281 with five doubles, three home runs and eight RBIs in 18 games for Reno. He was claimed by Arizona off waivers from the San Francisco Giants on April 4.
