PHOENIX -- Martin Prado drove in two runs with a two-out, bases-loaded single in the eighth inning to help the Arizona Diamondbacks break a three-game losing streak with a 5-3 victory over the Milwaukee Brewers on Thursday.
Brewers reliever Jim Henderson (3-3) walked Adam Eaton to open the eighth inning and intentionally walked National League RBI leader Paul Goldschmidt after a sacrifice bunt. Jason Kubel walked with two outs to bring up Prado.
Prado is hitting .350 with 11 RBIs in his last 15 games.
Wade Miley (6-7) made his fourth consecutive quality start, and Brad Ziegler pitched the ninth inning for his second save. Miley has given up six runs in his last 28 2/3 innings,
Jonathan Lucroy hit his 12th home run and Carlos Gomez hit his 14th for Milwaukee.
Lucroy has 50 RBIs, 48 as a catcher, the most at that position in the major leagues.
Milwaukee starter Yovani Gallardo gave up three runs and four hits in six innings, the first time he has not won at Chase Field in five career starts. He was 4-0 with a 1.48 ERA in four starts here, 6-0 with a 1.62 ERA in eight career starts against Arizona entering the game.
The D-backs (48-44) have won six of their last nine. The Brewers (37-54) have lost two in a row and three of their last five.
Lucroy's two-run homer with two outs in the first inning drove in Jean Segura, who had doubled with one out. Rickie Weeks and Sean Halton followed with singles but Miley got a groundout to end the inning.
Gomez's homer made it 3-0 in the third.
Goldschmidt broke up Gallardo's no-hitter on a single to center with one out in the fourth inning.
Eaton's two-out triple in the fifth inning drove in Prado and Miguel Montero to cut the Brewer's lead to 3-2. It was Eaton's first hit this season. He was activated from the disabled list on Tuesday after suffering a left elbow injury late in spring training.
NOTES: Brewers LF Ryan Braun was placed on the bereavement list Thursday because of a family medical issue, the Brewers said. Braun must miss at least three games and is eligible to return for the final game of the Arizona series Sunday, the last game before the All-Star break. OF Caleb Gindl was recalled from Triple-A Nashville to take Braun's spot on the roster. ... Arizona optioned LHP Tyler Skaggs to Class A Visalia on Thursday, the day after his final start before the All-Star break. Skaggs, 1-0 with a 2.19 ERA in two July starts, is eligible to return on July 21, the D-backs' third game after the break. He is likely to return to the rotation since the D-backs do not expect RHP Brandon McCarthy or RHP Trevor Cahill back until the end of July at the earliest, general manager Kevin Towers said Thursday. Rookie LHP Eury De La Rosa was recalled from Triple-A Reno to replace Skaggs on the roster.
