Dez Bryant: Not Quite Ready To Catch Passes
Update: Coach Jason Garrett said that Bryant (fractured left index finger) will be evaluated at practice Thursday, with the wideout unlikely to catch any passes, the Cowboys' official site reports. "We’re going to have to do that at some point," Garrett said Thursday with regards to allowing Bryant to catch passes, but the wideout's finger has too much swelling to do so at this stage.

Recommendation: The Cowboys still plan to try to get Bryant ready to play Sunday against the Steelers, but given that there is some risk of a long-term injury to his finger if he delays surgery, both Bryant and the Cowboys will have to weigh their options carefully in the coming days. Though not a scenario suggested by the team just yet, we suspect that this could evolve into a game-time decision leading up to Sunday's 4:25 ET kickoff.
