Devils' Fayne out 3-4 months

New Jersey Devils defenseman Mark Fayne had wrist surgery on Friday and may miss the start of the 2012-13 season, NHL.com reported.

Fayne had the scapholunate ligament of his left wrist repaired, and that typically sidelines a player for 3-4 months.

Fayne, 25, is one of three players the Devils tendered qualifying offers to on Monday.

He had four goals and 13 assists while playing all 82 regular-season games this past season. He had three assists in the postseason.
