Note: The opinions expressed here are my takes on the Detroit Lions' key players during the 2012 fantasy football season. As always, use your best judgment and conduct your own research on who to start or bench each week. You know your individual team and/or league situation better than anyone else. All statistics and point totals are based on Yahoo! Sports Fantasy Football standard scoring system.
Matthew Stafford, QB
Stafford finished the week earning 15.74 fantasy points in a loss to the Chicago Bears. This week he faces a Seattle Seahawks' defense that has given up an average of just 11.73 fantasy points per game to quarterbacks this season. Stafford had a rough week last week and that trend should continue against a tough Seattle defense. Look fro around 17.00 fantasy points this week.
Mikel LeShoure, RB
LeShoure finished the week earning 6.30 fantasy points against the Bears. This week he faces a Seahawks' defense that has allowed an average of just 11.59 fantasy points per game to running backs this season. LeShoure is not a running back that scores a ton of fantasy points on a weekly basis. Pair that with the fact he faces a difficult matchup and expectations need to be lowered to around 8.00 fantasy points this week.
Calvin Johnson, WR
Johnson had an abysmal game scoring just 3.40 fantasy points against Chicago. This week he faces a Seattle defense that has given up an average of 17.47 fantasy points per game to wide receivers this season. Johnson was shut down last week and faces another difficult matchup this week against a tough Seahawks' defense. Johnson remains a player you simply must start each week. Hope for a rebound and at least 10.00 fantasy points this week.
Nate Burleson, WR
Burleson will miss the rest of the season after breaking his leg on Monday night. If you hold him on your roster, now would be a good time to seek a replacement.
Brandon Pettigrew, TE
Pettigrew finished the week earning just 3.70 fantasy points against the Bears. This week he faces a Seahawks' defense that has allowed an average of 7.17 fantasy points per game to tight ends this season. While Pettigrew does not wow, he remains one of the better fantasy tight ends in the game, on average. Look for around 6.00 fantasy points this week.
