Matthew Stafford had a big day passing, but it wasn't enough to avoid a difficult loss for the Lions against the Bengals, 27-24, at home.
Stafford lit up the Bengals for three scores on 28 of 51 passing for 357 yards and no interceptions. Andy Dalton also played well for the Bengals, and wound up 24 for 34 with 372 yards passing, three touchdowns and no interceptions.
Reggie Bush struggled to find running room, gaining only 50 yards on 20 carries in addition to three receptions for 44 yards. Calvin Johnson was a highlight, catching nine passes for 155 yards with two touchdowns.
The Detroit defense struggled to defend the passing attack, but was able to slow down the run, giving up 57 yards rushing and 364 passing. They tackled Dalton for a sack.
Bengals wide receiver A.J. Green was impressive, churning out 155 receiving yards and one touchdown. After Dalton, he was the top performer for Cincinnati. Tight end Tyler Eifert also performed well with 45 receiving yards and one touchdown.
The Lions will play host to the Cowboys (3-3) next week while the Bengals play against the Jets (3-3), also at home.
