Automated Insights

Derrick Favors earned his 15th double-double this season, scoring 17 points and registering 12 rebounds, to help the Utah Jazz beat the Sacramento Kings, 106-99. The Jazz picked up the victory due in large part to their efficiency handling the basketball, accumulating 20 assists and turning it over only eight times. Utah (16-29) has now won back-to-back games after defeating Washington Wizards on Saturday.

Favors went 5-12 and converted 7-8 from the free throw line. Other key performers for Utah were Marvin Williams with 16 points and 11 rebounds, Jeremy Evans with 14 points and 10 rebounds, and Gordon Hayward with 12 points and 6 rebounds. Despite the loss, Jason Thompson put up 19 points for Sacramento on 7-10 shooting from the field and 5-6 from the free throw line. He also tallied 11 rebounds. Derrick Williams added 17 points and 15 rebounds, Ben McLemore finished with 14 points and 9 rebounds, and Isaiah Thomas put up 10 points and 6 assists.

The Kings posted an eFG% of just 43.9%, including 22.7% from 3-point range. This year, they are 1-4 when they record marks below 45% and 30% in those respective categories. On the other hand, the Jazz are 4-2 when holding their opponents to such low percentages.

Sacramento (15-29) has now dropped their last four consecutive games.

Coming up, the Jazz square off with the Golden State Warriors, who are 27-18 on the season. The Kings go up against the Memphis Grizzlies, currently sitting at 22-20 this year. The Jazz came up short against Golden State each of the last two times they've met. The Kings have lost to Memphis the last two times they have played.
