Derek Fisher to make Thunder debut on Wednesday

After signing an agreement prior to tip-off, Derek Fisher will play his first game for the Oklahoma City Thunder against the Los Angeles Clippers on Wednesday night, league sources told Yahoo! Sports.

Fisher cleared waivers at 6 p.m. ET on Wednesday. His signing with the Thunder comes after agreeing to a buyout this week with the Houston Rockets, who traded for him on Thursday as part of a package with the Los Angeles Lakers.

Fisher arrived in Oklahoma City on Wednesday morning. The Thunder lost to the Jazz in Utah on Tuesday night and will finish a back-to-back with the Clippers in Oklahoma City.

Originally, it was believed that his Thunder debut wouldn't come until Oklahoma City hosted the Minnesota Timberwolves on Friday night.

Fisher will serve as a backup for All-Star point guard Russell Westbrook.
