Denver Broncos Fantasy Football Week 9: Fan Preview

Yahoo Contributor Network

Note: The opinions expressed here are my takes on the Denver Broncos' key players during the 2012 fantasy football season. As always, use your best judgment and conduct your own research on who to start or bench each week. You know your individual team and/or league situation better than anyone else. All statistics and point totals are based on Yahoo! Sports Fantasy Football standard scoring system.

Peyton Manning, QB

Manning finished the week earning 24.60 fantasy points in a win over the New Orleans Saints. This week he faces a Cincinnati Bengals' defense that has given up an average of 16.99 fantasy points per game to quarterbacks this season. Manning gave fans and owners a scare hitting his hand on a helmet just before halftime against New Orleans but he should be fine for this week. Look for at least 18.00 fantasy points against the Bengals.

Willis McGahee, RB

McGahee has a stellar week earning 19.50 fantasy points against the Saints. This week he faces a Bengals' defense that has allowed an average of 21.71 fantasy points per game to running backs this season. Cincinnati is allowing 124 yards per game on the ground this season, provided he finds the end zone at least once, another big performance is not out of the question. Look for at least 11.00 fantasy points this week.

Demaryius Thomas, WR

Thomas had another big week earning 19.70 fantasy points against New Orleans. This week he faces a Cincinnati defense that has given up an average of 19.06 fantasy points per game to wide receivers this season. Thomas has been red-hot having scored touchdowns in two consecutive games and gaining 100+ yards in three of his last four. He has a good matchup against Cincinnati making it safe to expect at least 10.00 fantasy points this week.

Eric Decker, WR

Decker continued his hot streak earning 16.30 fantasy points on the week against the Saints. This week he shares the good matchup against the Bengals with his fellow recievers. Decker has found the end zone for four straight weeks despite the moderate amount of catches and targets. Look for at least 9.00 fantasy points on the week.

Defense

Denver has a modest week earning just 4.00 fantasy points against New Orleans. This week they face a Cincinnati team that has allowed an average of 9.86 fantasy points per game to team defense. It is a favorable matchup suitable for an owner who rotates team defense on a weekly basis. Denver is lightly owned so is likely available on the waiver wire. Look for around 8.00 fantasy points this week.
